Carolyn is the co-founder and past president of the Autism Society of PEI. In 2002 she co-founded the Stars for Life Foundation for Young Adults with Autism and still serves as president. Carolyn dedicates time and effort to fundraising events and campaigns. She has also created many retail products that the Foundation uses as employment opportunities for its clients.
Carolyn has received the provincial volunteer of the Year award in 2005, and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship, recognizing her tremendous efforts in the field of autism treatment. She is also the first recipient of the Joan teRaa memorial award and has received the Humanitarian Award from the Canadian Red Cross in PEI for her tremendous efforts to help those affected by autism. In 2016, Carolyn was one of three Islanders to receive the Order of PEI.
